Activity? Experience life on an Eighteenth Century farm and enjoy a delicious lunch of period specialties. The First California Company, Jamestowne Society will travel to the inland empire to Riles Colonial Farm in Oak Glen, California. This is a beautiful setting in the foothills north of Riverside, California. Our tour begins at 10 a.m. We will see and participate in traditional activities of a Colonial farm, such as butter making, pressing for apple cider, candle dipping, weaving, use of the quill and ink. We will have instruction in 18th century etiquette and colonial games. At noon we will move into the colonial tavern, The Hawk’s Head Public House, for a lunch of chicken pot pie, salad, corn chowder and Sally Lunn bread. There will be a brief business meeting after lunch. This will be a great learning experience for not only you and also your children and/or grandchildren. Please bring them too!
